WELCOME
To our new and returning students, we welcome you to the 2021-2022 academic year at Desert
Chapel Christian School. We are excited about all that God has purposed for this school year. Please know we are praying for you!

DROP-OFF & PICK-UP GUIDELINES
Just a reminder that the DC school day has lengthened. Please look in the back of the Student
Handbook to determine school traffic flow patterns. All cars enter the campus at the Sunny Dunes
and Sunrise Way intersection for student pick-up and student drop-off.
Elementary
ELEMENTARY:

7:45 a.m.
  • Parents will pull up to the Multipurpose door for student drop-off and temperature checks.
  • Parents may walk their students to the playground. To do so, parents must park their car, receive a temperature check at the Multipurpose Room door, and wear a mask on campus.
  • On the first day of school, parents may walk their students to their classrooms, but parents will not be invited into the classroom, and may say goodbye at the classroom door.

8:00 a.m.
  • The school day begins with Pledges.
  • Late arrivals must enter the campus through the elementary school office.
  • Please do not drop your child off at the playground blacktop. All late students must be temperature checked in the school office before entering the campus.

2:55 p.m.
  • End of the school day dismissal.
  • Students will line up with their classes on the playground.
  • Please pull up your car to the playground, and the Aides will call your student to come to your car.
DROP-OFF & PICK-UP GUIDELINES

MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL DROP-OFF & PICK-UP

7:45 a.m.
  • Drop-off and temperature checks at the check-in point located in front of the school office.

7:50 a.m.
  • The school day begins with Pledges at the flagpole in the courtyard. Late arrivals must enter the campus through the school office to receive a temperature check.

8:00 a.m.
● Period One class begins. Be on time!

2:55 p.m.
● End of the school day dismissal.
MASKS
A reminder that masks are to be worn indoors, but are not necessary when outdoors. Transitional
Kindergarten through Second Grade are recommended to wear masks indoors. Grades Three through Twelfth Grade are required to wear masks indoors. Visitors to the campus, including parents, will be required to wear a mask at all times, as we strive to keep our school community healthy.

WAIVER
The Health and Safety Waiver must be turned into the school office in order for a student to attend
school. If your signed waiver was not turned in at the School Orientation, please ensure that is is turned in to Mrs. Behrend first thing Monday morning.

STUDENT HANDBOOK
Please ensure that parents and students review the DC Student Handbook, especially the sections on Dress Code and our school Electronics Policy. Students are expected to abide by DC expectations.

PARENT FACULTY MEETING
This year’s first Parent Faculty Meeting for the 2021-2022 academic year is scheduled for Thursday,
September 9th at 6:30 p.m. Pastor Don will love to have a room full of parents. Please mark your
calendars, and plan to lend your voice and support to our school.

HOT LUNCH PROGRAM
Below you will find some basic information about the DC Hot Lunch Program, including how to
register, order and pay for lunches online. We have outsourced our lunch program, which we believe will provide convenience and greater options for lunch. Lunch service will begin on September 1st, 2021.

2-3 LUNCH CHOICES PER DAY
$5.25 plus tax per lunch
(unless a larger size is ordered)
NO MINIMUM ORDER REQUIRED

HOW TO REGISTER/ORDER/PAY:
  • Go to: lovemylunch.h1.hotlunchonline.net
  • Create a new account
  • Click on “USER” to add student(s) to your account. Make sure you select the grade they are in.
  • Click “ORDER”
  • This will bring you to the August month calendar.
  • To the right will be your student(s) names and next to it a box that says “TODAY”.
  • Click the forward arrow to the right of the TODAY box to bring up the September menu.
  • Click on the meal item on the day you would like. This will give you details of what is included in the meal.
  • If you have more than one student you will need to order for all of them individually.
  • “Add” the item to your cart.
  • When finished selecting and adding items, click on “shopping cart” to bring up a review of your order and payment processing.
  • Don’t forget to pay and check out completely!!

GIFT CARDS
Desert Chapel school families can purchase gift cards through our SCRIP program. A portion of the sales is donated back to Desert Chapel Christian School. Gift cards are available for restaurants, stores, gas stations, grocery stores, and online shopping. Contact Mrs. Behrend in the school office to place your order, or place your order online. See attached brochure for more information.
