Summer Reading Assignment
This is a friendly reminder that your Summer Reading Assignment will be due the first day of school. It will be collected by your English teacher. Please find attached the Summer Reading Assignment outline that lists various options from which to choose an assignment, as well as expectations for each assignment.
 

2019-2020 Academic Year Enrollment
If you have not already completed your enrollment packet, we encourage you to do so as soon as possible, particularly so that you can fully benefit at the upcoming Middle High School “Back to School” Orientation. It also aids us tremendously as we plan for the upcoming school year.
 

Middle & High School Orientation
Please plan to join us for the Middle & High School “Back to School” Orientation scheduled for the evening of Thursday, August 15th! All enrolled students and their families will have the opportunity to meet their teachers, and pick up a syllabus for each of their classes. Enrolled students will receive their class schedule, DC official shirts, and PE uniforms. Locks will be distributed and lockers will be selected. Student Handbooks and Technology Agreements will be handed out to be signed by parents and students. A brief informational session is scheduled to welcome everyone back to school. ASB will be selling $1 tacos and fresh-baked cookies. This is our middle and high school “Back to School Night,” creating the opportunity for students and parents to be prepared before the official start to the new academic school year!
Middle & High School Orientation Schedule
5:00 p.m. - SENIORS ONLY receive their class schedules, shirts, locks, and pick their lockers.
5:30 p.m. - High School Informational Session in the Drama Room
6:00 p.m. - FRESHMEN, SOPHOMORES, & JUNIORS receive their class schedules, shirts, locks, and pick their lockers.

7:00 p.m. - Middle School Informational Session in the Drama Room
7:30 p.m. - MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS receive their class schedules, shirts, locks, and pick their lockers.

ATHLETICS:
High School Football Practice
High school football practice is in full swing with our new football coach. Contact the office to ensure that your physical form has been turned in, and to receive information about practice times.
Girls’ High School Volleyball Practice
High school volleyball practice began this week. Join Coach Hannah and Coach Michelle for the daily 3:00 p.m. practice in the HS gymnasium. Please ensure that you have turned in a completed physical form.
 

ACADEMICS:
SAT & ACT Test Dates
Register NOW! The SAT and ACT tests are required for application to universities. Seniors will want to take the opportunity to write the SAT and ACT several times in an effort to increase their scores. There are registration deadlines that must be met, otherwise a late registration fee will be applied.

SAT Test Date: August 24, 2019 Late Registration Fee (Must Register by August 6, 2019)

October 5, 2019 Registration Deadline: September 6, 2019
November 2, 2019 Registration Deadline: October 3, 2019
December 7, 2019 Registration Deadline: November 8, 2019
