APPLICATION PROCESS

DCCS is open to all...

Desert Chapel Christian School is open to anyone interested in securing a Christian education, but reserves the right to select students on the basis of academic performance, religious commitment, lifestyle choices and personal qualifications including a willingness to cooperate with Desert Chapel Christian School administration and to abide by its policies.

Since attendance at Desert Chapel Christian School is a privilege not a right, all students must be convinced they want to attend Desert Chapel Christian School and agree to honestly and wholeheartedly apply themselves to our academically challenging curriculum. They also agree to display actions and attitudes that are in keeping with the Christian values adhered to by our school and our faith. We do not demand perfection but we do encourage our students to behave in such a way as to be exemplary of what our school stands for.

If you are looking to secure a Christ-centered and Biblically-directed education, then take the next step and fill out an application. We are teaching and training the Christian leaders of tomorrow and you just might be one of them!

Student registration will be determined after a complete evaluation of the recommendations, assessment and interview. Incoming Transitional Kindergarteners must be 4 years of age on or before June 1, 2024; Kindergartners must be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2024.

What does the DCCS application process look like?

The following steps must be completed to apply for new enrollment at DCCS:
  • Application for Enrollment:  Complete and sign.

  • Student Assessment Scheduled.  When you come for the scheduled assessment, please bring the most recent report card.

  • Three Student Recommendation Forms:  Two academic and one personal.

  • Acknowledgement:  Read and Signed by both parent and student.

  • Student Essay (grades 6-12):  Student must do a 100-150 word essay in their own handwriting on “Why I want to attend DCCS.”

Once all of the above have been completed, the school office will contact you to set up a time for an interview with the Principal.
We understand that the enrollment of our student is dependent upon the results of an academic, financial and behavioral review.
  • The Academic Review is review of the assessment test results, and for elementary students includes the most recent report card.

  • For middle school and high school students, this includes review of the most recent report card, current GPA, progress towards successful graduation, academic achievements, and the student’s personal commitment to educational advancement and learning.

  • The Behavioral Review includes personal recommendations, attendance, tardiness, disciplinary referrals, suspensions, classroom attitudes, Christian character, moral values and influences that the student has upon others.

  • The Financial Review includes ability to fulfill school fees, stewardship, and any benevolence that might be made available.
